Careers and Employment
Not Just Whole Community, A Global Community
Not Just Whole Community, A Global Community

At JHP, our global perspective comes naturally. Our firm includes architectural professionals from nearly a dozen different countries around the world, who enrich our projects with unique insights and International viewpoints.

Balance In The Workplace
Balance In The Workplace

Our firm has a culture that supports life balance. While the number of women in architecture has increased over the years, in many firms there's still a gender gap. Here, you'll find a staff that's 38 percent female - a testament to leadership's commitment to creating a place that celebrates individual ability rather than along gender lines.

We support dreaming
We support dreaming

We celebrate our employees' personal interests and aspirations. From supporting an Olympic hopeful in training and travel to making sure parents have time to volunteer at their child's school, we know how fulfilling those pursuits can be. Family time, community involvement, and individual passions are all valued here.

Continuing Education And IDP
Continuing Education & IDP

Architecture doesn't stand still. To keep pace with best practices, emerging trends and new technologies, we wholeheartedly encourage our employees to take advantage of continuing education opportunities. Interns in our IDP program benefit from our unique focus on professional development, personalized attention, and firm-wide support. In support of this statement JHP was named national IDP "Firm of the Year" in 2003 by the American Institute of Architects.

Transit Support
Transit Support

Our office is on the Red Line at the Walnut Hill Station. In support of mass-transit ridership we offer a yearly DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) Pass to all our employees at no cost. It offers unlimited access to all DART services: local and express buses as well as Light Rail and the TRE (Trinity Railway Express) travel to sister-city Fort Worth. It's our way to help make North Texas "greener" through greater use of efficient and environmentally friendly transportation.

JHP Flexibility
Flexibility

We support working arrangements that make sense for all stakeholders. Past examples of have included telecommuting, flexible work schedule, and extended leave for international travel. Our office thrives on an open collaborative studio environment. The office is centrally located and near a variety of housing, shopping, entertainment and transportation options.

JHP Commitment to Community
Commitment to Community

Both as a firm, and individuals, we give back to the community in which we live and work. Our firm-wide efforts include Hearts and Hammers, an annual City of Dallas program to repair and rehabilitate the homes of homeowners without the means to do so, and CanStruction, a innovative national charity food-drive that starts with a design competition to create sculptures made entirely from canned food. Following the two-week competition all food is donated to the North Texas Food Bank for distribution to local needy families. As individuals, our staff has donated their time and talents to such notable causes as Bob James Memorial Fund, Texas Special Olympics, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the ASPCA. We are also active in many of our industry's signature organizations, including Urban Land Institute, American Institute of Architects, Congress for New Urbanism (CNU), United States Green Building Council (USGBC), National Trust for Historic Preservation, and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), to name but a few.
