Affordable Housing Design in 2020
JHP took the 2020 Architects Design Challenge, a design competition sponsored by Affordable Housing Finance magazine. We are pleased to announce our submittal was selected as a Finalist along with two others to be featured in the April/May On-line issue of Affordable Housing Finance magazine.
Competition Program: With an eye toward new technologies and advances in sustainable design, Affordable Housing Finance magazine challenged architects to use their imagination to envision what "affordable housing" will look like in the year 2020.We gave architects a list of established parameters and asked them to design an affordable housing development for the site plan that meets all program requirements without sacrificing a quality modern design that will withstand the test of time well into 2020. The competition program includes a multilateral agreement between a redevelopment agency, a regional transportation authority, and local not-for-profit church, and community groups to redevelop the subject site into a mixed-use transit-oriented development that would becomme a model for future devleopmet of this type.
