Erickson Wind Crest | Highlands Ranch, CO
Wind Crest is a campus-style Continuing Care Retirement Community located on 89 acres in northwest Douglas County, Colorado. Challenges of the project include working around the historic Highline Canal, which bisects the campus land bay. In doing so, the developer has committed to preserving natural habit adjacent to the canal channel, thereby turning a development obstacle into a campus amenity. The campus master plan includes over 1500 Independent Living Units (ILU) dispersed throughout three distinctly designed neighborhoods. Each neighborhood consists of 4 to 5 Residential Buildings (RB) and a supporting Community Building (CB) which provides services to residents. The build-out of the campus master plan includes 18 buildings, nearly 2-Million SF, and is anticipated to take 8 to 10 years for completion.
