More construction coming with launch of apartments at $1.5 billion Frisco Station
Builders are ready to add to the construction activity along Frisco’s so-called $5 billion mile.
Developer Hillwood is breaking ground on the first 300-unit apartment community in the 242-acre Frisco Station development on Dallas North Tollway.
Called the Station House, the rental community will be the first of almost 2,400 apartments planned in Frisco Station.
The Station House apartments will be built adjacent to the Dallas Cowboys’ new development, The Star. The first units will open in mid-2018.
“The job growth in this region is creating strong demand for new housing in the Frisco community, and Station House will provide a highly amenitized urban lifestyle product to an area that needs more housing options to meet the growing demand,” said Mark McHenry, managing director of Hillwood Multifamily.
Designed by JHP Architecture/Urban Design, Station House will be a series of four-story buildings constructed around courtyards with pool area, outdoor kitchen and gathering spaces. The new apartments will be near Frisco Station’s planned 15-acre park.
Financing for Station House was provided through Associated Bank.
The apartment project at Frisco Station comes less than two months after developers broke ground on a seven-story office building — the first phase of the $1.5 billion mixed-use project.
Frisco Station is planned for 5.5 million square feet of offices; 2,400 apartments; 300,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space; and 650 hotel rooms. There also will be 40 acres of medical facilities.
Hillwood is building Frisco Station in partnership with Van Trust Real Estate and the Rudman Partnership.
The first 228,000-square-foot office building will open in August and is across the street from the Cowboys’ The Star office, sports, retail and hotel complex.
Hotel developer NewcrestImage plans to start construction next year in Frisco Station on a four-brand, 600-room “lifestyle hotel campus.”
The hotel campus on the west side of the tollway will include an AC Hotel, Residence Inn, Canopy by Hilton and Hyatt Place.
