JHP Architecture / Urban Design proudly supports AIA Dallas in preserving Dallas City Hall — the People’s House.
Designed by I. M. Pei as a bold expression of a forward-thinking city, Dallas City Hall is an iconic civic landmark and an enduring symbol of democratic life in Dallas. City Hall’s plaza and public chambers were conceived as spaces for gathering, expression, and civic participation.
Preservation and progress are not mutually exclusive. A vibrant downtown sports and entertainment district can be realized while thoughtfully preserving, reimagining, and reinvesting in Dallas City Hall. Great cities build boldly on their landmarks — not in place of them.
We at JHP encourage civic leaders, stakeholders, and the broader community of citizens to join us in calling for an open and transparent public process — one grounded in thoughtful debate, shared facts, and meaningful public comment. The future of the People’s House and the citizens of this great city deserve nothing less.
