Located within Ballpark Village, Live! by Loews St. Louis is conceived as a contemporary urban hotel fully immersed in The Cordish Companies’ vibrant mixed-use district. Clean, confident massing and glass-forward façades establish a strong civic presence while deliberately opening the building to direct views into Busch Stadium, pulling the drama of the ballpark into the daily hotel experience. From arrival to interior public spaces, sightlines are choreographed to capture the energy, scale, and spectacle of the stadium and surrounding district, creating moments of anticipation and connection to the city–s cultural heartbeat. Inside, the architecture tempers this intensity with a composed, refined atmosphere, allowing guests to feel both plugged into the excitement of downtown St. Louis and sheltered within a calm, hospitality-driven retreat.

Live! by Loews St. Louis was conceived as the hospitality anchor for the high-energy Ballpark Village district, cojoined and directly attached to the PwC Pennant Office Building. The challenge was to integrate a full-service urban hotel with an active office environment while allowing each use to operate independently. The hotel also needed to perform seamlessly during peak game-day and event conditions while delivering a refined, lasting guest experience beyond major events.
Solution
Designed by HKS with Bob Bullis serving as Principal-in-Charge, the project is organized to balance connectivity and autonomy between the hotel and office building. Separate arrivals, circulation, and back-of-house systems support independent operations, while shared infrastructure reinforces a unified urban presence. Active ground-floor spaces, intuitive wayfinding, and direct connections to Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village strengthen the hotel–s role as a central gathering place. Interiors blend contemporary hospitality design with curated St. Louis Cardinals elements, creating flexible guestrooms, meeting spaces, and dining venues suited to both everyday business travel and peak event demand.
Impact
Live! by Loews St. Louis strengthens Ballpark Village as a year-round mixed-use destination by integrating hospitality, office, and entertainment within a cohesive urban environment. The project supports the adjacent PwC Pennant Building and surrounding district while elevating downtown accommodations and contributing lasting civic, cultural, and economic value beyond game days and major events.
