Bridges at Flatiron is shaped by a simple idea: let the landscape and the journey lead. From the Boulder Turnpike, the community announces itself with confident presence; at home, windows and walkways turn toward the Flatirons, framing Colorado’s daily drama. Its name nods to Broomfield’s bike bridges and the mountains beyond; celebrated through bike-friendly connections, on-site storage and repair, and an easy rhythm between movement and rest. With a mix of conventional and income-qualified homes, it supports a more inclusive kind of belonging.

Challenge

Bridges at Flatiron required an approach that balanced strong visibility along the Denver–Boulder Turnpike with sensitivity to its natural setting and views of the Flatirons. The project needed to integrate bike-focused connectivity, orient homes toward mountain vistas, and support HUD-financed affordability goals while establishing a clear, place-driven identity.

Solution

JHP shaped the community through carefully aligned buildings, view corridors, and a circulation system centered on biking and walking. Residential buildings were positioned to frame Flatiron views, while pedestrian and cycling connections–referencing Broomfield’s iconic bike bridges; were woven throughout the site to strengthen mobility, access, and neighborhood character.

Impact

The completed community delivers a distinctive regional presence paired with a highly connected, human-scaled living environment. By aligning landscape, movement, and mixed-income housing, Bridges at Flatiron enhances quality of life, expands affordability, and reinforces a more inclusive sense of belonging within the Boulder–Denver corridor.
