Challenge

Park at Estancia required a design approach that could deliver a refined residential experience while preserving the ecological character of the Texas Hill Country. The challenge was accommodating a multifamily community on a heavily wooded site while maintaining natural topography and protecting nearly 90 native heritage oak trees, all within a setting just south of Austin.

Solution

JHP approached the site with sensitive planning and restrained architecture, organizing a mix of three-story multifamily residences and two-story carriage homes, each with private garages, along with a standalone clubhouse. These elements are carefully arranged around preserved trees and natural landforms, with building placement, massing, and materials calibrated to minimize site disturbance and blend with the surrounding landscape.

Impact

The result is a calm, thoughtfully integrated community that elevates everyday living while safeguarding the natural assets that define the Hill Country. Park at Estancia demonstrates how residential development can balance comfort, character, and long-term environmental stewardship.
