Nestled in Aurora along the banks of Westerly Creek, Alexan Westerly Creek balances urban energy with open-air calm. Steps from Stanley Marketplace, the community connects easily to shops, trails, and everyday destinations. Ground-level retail along Clinton Street activates the neighborhood, while four-story residences are thoughtfully shaped to frame creek and mountain views. A central pocket park welcomes residents and visitors alike, creating a gateway to the trail system beyond. Above it all, a sky deck offers a quiet place to take in the landscape and changing Colorado light.

Challenge

Alexan Westerly Creek needed to balance its location along a sensitive creek corridor with an active presence on Clinton Street, while complementing the neighboring Alexan Montview development. The project also had to preserve mountain views, support walkability to Stanley Marketplace, and create a welcoming eastern gateway to Westerly Creek.

Solution

JHP arranged four-story, surface-parked buildings in L-shaped configurations along the creek edge to capture views and define open space. Ground-level retail activates Clinton Street, while a central urban pocket park establishes a clear pedestrian connection to the trail system. A rooftop sky deck further extends views to the surrounding mountains.

Impact

The project reinforces the connection between everyday living and the natural landscape, creating a walkable community that enhances access to Westerly Creek and strengthens neighborhood vitality.
