Challenge

Saltillo Office sits within the fast-growing Plaza Saltillo district in East Austin, a rail-adjacent, mixed-use environment shaped by multiple architects, stakeholders, and a strong public-realm vision. The challenge was to introduce a contemporary office building that meets evolving workplace needs while fitting seamlessly into a dense, walkable, transit-oriented setting.

Solution

JHP worked in close collaboration with Michael Hsu Office of Architecture to coordinate planning, massing, and site integration within the broader district framework. The design prioritizes transparency, flexibility, and active street presence, with direct connections to transit, nearby retail, and public spaces. Careful orientation, material choices, and amenity placement support both a distinct architectural identity and cohesion with the surrounding development.
