Challenge
JHP was tasked with creating a distinctive vertical mixed-use tower at the eastern gateway of Fort Worth’s Cultural District. The challenge was to seamlessly stack residential living above a Class A office environment and ground-floor retail–balancing privacy, identity, and performance for each use–while respecting the scale and architectural legacy of nearby institutions such as the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Solution
One Museum Place resolves this complexity through a clear vertical organization: activated retail at grade, four levels of Class A office above, and luxury residences crowning the upper floors. A bold, curved glass façade unifies the stack into a single architectural expression while maintaining discreet separations for access, security, and privacy. The tower’s form frames views to downtown and the museum corridor, reinforcing its civic presence at University Drive and West 7th Street.
Impact
The project establishes a rare, high-rise residential-over-office model within the Fort Worth Cultural District, elevating Museum Place as a premier destination to live, work, and engage the city. Its refined vertical mix strengthens the district’s urban edge and demonstrates how density and design can coexist in a culturally significant setting.
