Challenge
Sited on a compact triangular parcel at the intersection of University Drive and West 7th Street, the Flatiron Building was tasked with anchoring the Museum Place development while establishing a strong architectural presence. The project needed to balance ground-floor retail and Class A office space within a constrained footprint, while clearly marking a gateway adjacent to Fort Worth’s Cultural District and the Modern Art Museum.
Solution
JHP responded with a distinctive flatiron form that capitalizes on the site’s visibility and geometry. A canted glass curtain wall frames views toward downtown and the Cultural District, while street-level retail activates the corner and office space is efficiently organized across multiple floors above.
Impact
In concert with One Museum Place, the building establishes a recognizable entry into the Museum Place district. Its reflective façade engages light, landscape, and surrounding cultural institutions, strengthening the area’s identity and reinforcing its role as a vibrant urban gateway.
