Wind Crest Highrise

Project Details:

Rising above the Colorado landscape, Wind Crest offers high-rise living shaped by comfort, security, and mountain views. From upper floors, the Rockies unfold in sweeping panoramas, bringing light, sky, and seasonal change into everyday life. Lodge-inspired architecture and refined interiors create a sense of warmth and luxury, while secure access and attentive services provide peace of mind. Here, elevated living means more than height—it’s the assurance of safety, the ease of care, and the quiet privilege of waking each day to the mountains beyond.

Client:

Erickson Living

Location:

Highlands Ranch, CO

Project Data:

  • 1,587 units
  • 89.0 acres
  • 18.03 units per acre

Challenge

Wind Crest required multiple multi-story residential buildings distributed across an 80-acre senior living campus, increasing density while maintaining a cohesive, village-scaled environment. The design needed to meet rigorous high-rise life-safety and egress requirements while supporting durable construction and phased development with minimal disruption to residents.

Solution

JHP designed a series of residential buildings using steel-frame construction over podium levels, fully compliant with high-rise codes. Protected egress, fire-resistive assemblies, and redundant life-safety systems were integrated throughout. Varying building heights and carefully scaled podiums organize amenities and services while reinforcing a cohesive campus character.

Impact

The completed residential environment delivers safe, resilient high-rise living that supports aging in place, preserves a human-scaled campus identity, and enables Wind Crest to evolve over time within a unified, code-compliant senior living setting.
