Highland Springs sought to feel less like a traditional senior campus and more like a welcoming, resort-style village–one capable of evolving gracefully over a long-term buildout while supporting a full continuum of care. The challenge was to phase a large, multi-year development without disrupting daily life, maintaining continuity, comfort, and a consistent sense of place as the community grew.
Solution
JHP organized the campus into three intimate neighborhoods, each anchored by a hospitality-inspired Community Building. These hubs serve as social and operational hearts, integrating dining, wellness, culture, services, and everyday amenities within a walkable framework. Residential buildings are arranged to reinforce access, connection, and ease, allowing the campus to expand naturally while preserving a cohesive village character.
Impact
As the long-term vision is realized, Highland Springs delivers a community defined by comfort, choice, and belonging. Thoughtfully layered services support aging in place, while a resort-inspired environment elevates daily life–strengthening neighborhood identity and redefining hospitality-driven senior living through design that values continuity, play, and human connection.
