Step outside and the neighborhood unfolds in cafés, corner restaurants, and everyday errands you can actually walk to. Back at home, the mood turns effortless–sunlit afternoons by a resort-style pool, a quiet yoga reset, a few easy putts, and room for dogs to roam. Inside, contemporary studios, one-, and two-bedroom homes rise across four stories, designed for modern desert living.

The Tessera aimed to create a residential community that balanced proximity to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with livability, acoustic comfort, and a composed architectural presence. The design needed to foster a calm residential character while maintaining strong connections between Phoenix and Tempe.
Solution
JHP designed a four-story community organized around thoughtfully placed buildings and shared amenities that minimize perceived density and enhance privacy. Centralized open spaces–including a prominent, easily accessible dog park–support daily routines and social connection, while contemporary unit layouts and durable materials enhance long-term comfort.
